Ray and I had planned to get up and enjoy breakfast in Loreto at a place that came highly recommended called Orlando’s. But when we woke up we were just eager to get to our place. The dive over the mountains just south of Loreto was beautiful but extremely curvy. Ray has a bit of acrophobia and the many places where he saw broken barriers and crosses on the cliff side didn’t help๐ณ I just silently said many prayers for those who didn’t make it through. ๐
We stopped for gas in La Paz and other than being slowed by a parade of over 100 horseback riders we sailed straight into San Jose del Cabo.
We have never been here in October. It is markedly warmer and buggier than we have experienced. The place, however, is lovely and our natural insect repellent from DoTERRA seems to be working.
We decided to save unpacking the car until the morning and went to our favorite Sushi restaurant to celebrate our arrival.
Today I got up early to experience the sunrise. The sunrise in San Jose has always been one of my favorite sights. As I sat out on the lanai expectantly I was disappointed to see where the depth of color was forming. It looked as if the sun would rise just out of my view. I was melancholy at first but thought about all God had brought us through and the beauty we had experienced over the last 11 days. We had been blessed by so many family and friends. The thoughts put a smile on my face and I decided to go in and get a cup of coffee. Still smiling,I looked out over the beautiful ocean once again. And wouldn’t you know it, the sun was rising right in front of our place! Such an incredible blessing.
We are getting settled in now. We’ve unpacked the car and cooked our first meal. We have been to Costco, the water store and the grocery store already. It is nice being somewhere where you know your way around.
We have a couple prayer request for anyone who feels lead to pray. Tropical storm Pamela is heading our way. It is supposed to be to the south of us and hit mainland Mexico but the forecasters have not cleared Baja yet. We have been given basic instructions on how to prepare but do not really want to experience a hurricane our first week here. We also have no internet which is making school difficult for me.
Not too worried though. As the song says ‘Todo va a estar bien.’ Everything will be alright.โค๏ธ
Sounds like a great first day! I will be praying away the hurricane and for the arrival of Wi-Fi๐
