Hi Friends,

We are continuing to explore Mexico while we are living here in San Jose del Cabo. Ray and I just returned from a trip to Guadalajara. What a wonderful journey we had. The people we met were all very kind, the architecture and historical El Centro were enchanting and the food was absolutely delicious.

We only stayed for three day but we packed a weeks worth of adventure into those three days. We toured the town of Tequila and learned all about its famous namesake drink. We dined in mariachi filled Tlaquepaque. We went on a food tour in El Centro and made our way through the largest indoor market in Latin America. We watched a symphony in the downtown square and saw a beautifully done history of Guadalajara projected onto the front of the central Cathedral. We tried the infamous tortas ahogadas, delicious barbacoa tacos and birria ( local goat stew). We even had a chance to meet up with some good friends from Los Cabos for dinner🥰

We stayed at a smaller hotel named Hotel Roma. No frills but the king sized bed and room were perfect for us. Our stay there included breakfast and the cost was about $50 per night. From the hotel we were able to walk directly to the square, cathedral, main market and many other sites of interest. Besides a tequila tour that ended up as more of a booze bus for our much younger co-tourists, We loved every bit of our short trip.

If you ever decide to take a trip to the Guadalajara area I would be happy to share some more incites with you😊
