The day started out as lovely as could be. Even though we still do not have an internet connection I was able to take my 2 hour FMCA zoom class with no problems using my phone. Then, after class, we enjoyed our first trip down to the pool. The water was great and it felt wonderful to get in some exercise.

All was well until I received a phone call followed by a text and then an email alerting me of a possible fraudulent charge on our credit card. It was then we realized that Ray was missing his debit card. By the time we called, 6 charges had come through on that card! This rattled us because our debit cards are our only access to cash since we can not open a bank account here yet. Fortunately, our bank (STCU) was able to catch this fast and cancel Ray’s card. Another gift was that my card has a different number so it didn’t need to be canceled.

We sighed a bit of relief, confident that we were not going to be taken for all we had, and headed out to buy me a desk. Obviously I still wasn’t focusing well because by the time we left the first store I had misplaced both my glasses and our parking ticket! Although I found both, I was feeling a bit down so I drove directly to our favorite in-store cafe.

This little cafe is inside Fresco, another grocery/home store. I like this cafe because 2 large lattes only cost about $6 and with every drink you purchase they give you two miniature croissants. Now as many of you know I tend to be pretty regimented with my food choices. Today, however, I wanted a little treat and will not feel bad about that. My 90/10 rule works great here. 90% of the time I eat great and that allows me room to indulge without regrets😉

Feeling better, we did a bit of shopping and decided to go back to the first store to buy a desk we liked. Back in the car, and on the road, my tire gauge was showing that our back tire was markedly lower than the rest.

I pulled up to a nearby gas station and Ray got out to add air. Well, the tire valve was broken. I asked the attendant in my faulty Spanish where we could get it fixed. The closest he could come up with was 25 minutes away and would most likely be closed by the time we got there. Besides, it was highly doubtful that I could understand his directions anyway.

Ray, feeling frustrated, wanted to head straight home. I started to do that but I really felt the need to accomplish something. We went back to the store, got the desk, then headed back home.

The day was definitely filled with highs and lows. We still have a tire to fix that will hopefully still have air in it come morning . But on the bright side, my desk is up and ready to use.

Many people have joked that they are living vicariously through our travels. Because of this, I think it’s important to share not only the good and beautiful but the frustration and struggle too. Life is definitely what you make of it. I’m choosing to hold on to the wins, breath deep through the losses and to see life as blessing no matter what comes my way❤️ Goodnight friends.

You persevered through this day and in the end remembered the blessings. Praying for God’s continued provision for you as you take on this new day. ❤️
